Yam Fries with Feta (Greek Style)

Yam Fries with Feta

Yams or sweet potatoes?  It's the same thing to me!

There's something just a little boring about baking a plain old yam.  From time to time I like to just put them on a baking sheet and bake for an hour at 375F.  Once they come out of the oven, just peel off the skin and eat while still warm. This is probably the healthiest way of eating a yam.

On the other hand, I sometimes crave a little more flavour and therefore came up with my own version of yam fries with a Greek twist.

You can also bake your own version of yam fries by seasoning with your favourite spices (or plain old salt & pepper alone) and then toss in olive oil and bake.

I hope you enjoy the recipe below!

Ingredients:
Yams (Sweet Potatoes)
Large Onion
2 cloves of Garlic
Feta Cheese
Olive Oil
Greek Oregano
Garlic Powder
Salt & Pepper

1.  Wash and peel yams.
2.  Slice yam lengthwise and then slice into strips to form sticks.
3.  Slice a large onion.
4.  Chop garlic into small pieces.
5.  Toss all above into a bowl.
6.  Season with oregano, garlic powder, salt and pepper.  Add olive oil and mix.
7.  Transfer onto a baking sheet.
8.  Crumble feta cheese overtop.
9.  Bake at 350F for 30 to 45 minutes.  (Depends whether a summer or winter yam).

Serve with grilled steak and vegetables.
